OMD Spain has presented, in a virtual event, the fourth edition of "The Future of Spain" , a study that shows the transformation of Spanish society as a consequence of the impact of Covid-19 . According to the study, this situation has caused a social, cultural and economic change in society and has motivated, at the same time, a transformation in citizens' values and the perception of different aspects and daily habits. 'The Future of Spain' has been prepared from field work carried out at the end of 2020 through a multidisciplinary methodology that consists of various phases that mix qualitative and quantitative disciplines. OMD Spain, in collaboration with Annalect, its data and analytics division, has conducted 1,000 interviews with individuals throughout Spain, as well as focus groups that represent different types of households .
In addition, there was a panel of experts , including renowned professionals from different disciplines, who were interviewed in depth to contrast their points of view with those of the “ordinary Phone Number List citizen.” 2020 has brought a new attitude. It has been a tough year, and this is demonstrated by the level of stress among citizens , the highest of the four editions of this study. But without Covid-19, the citizen would not have dared to change, to transform. The past year has brought a new attitude towards life. The coronavirus has repositioned people with respect to themselves, their relationship with others and with nature. Change of priorities: “From carpe diem to carpe tempus” Confinement has made citizens stop and reconnect with the essentials of life. Now they are more committed to organic food (57%) , and sustainable bicycle travel (45%) .
The post-pandemic society is ego-collaborative Individualism and cooperation are not a dichotomy. If we want to get out of this situation, we have to activate both registers. Individualism, because we are responsible for what happens to us; and belonging, because, in the absence of leadership, we are aware that we have to opt for more collaborative models. Consumption and lifestyle are marked by Covid-19 The citizen has not only made changes to his lifestyle in 2020, but recognizes that he will continue to do so in the next 2 or 3 years. 69% will spend less time in physical stores , 58% will continue wearing masks , 43% will only go to restaurants with terraces and 24% will buy more white brands. Our future depends on how three vectors of transformation decline We cannot know exactly what society will be like in the medium term since we live in constant uncertainty.
