Do you know what it takes to write a book? Only one thing: habit . What to get used to? Writing, that's all. Beyond everything we read every day about the rules of writing, about passion, about how to structure the story, create characters, etc., beyond all this chatter, to write a book you have to write it. You just have to write. Writing is always the magic word. Getting used to writing is the solution to the writer's problems, it is the victory over the blank page block . Find the most suitable time to write When do you write? What time of day? When I write a blog article, the time doesn't matter. In the evening I turn off, so after 6.30pm I no longer create anything, I'm tired, I just need to switch off, I turn off the PC and start reading. Fiction requires much more energy from me than writing for the web, because behind it there is a real work of creation, therefore creativity. I can't write fiction at any time. Every writer must find the most suitable moment to write , the one that yields the most.
There are those who write at night and, even if I don't understand how they do it, the important thing is that it works. I've read about people who get up very early in the morning - when for others it's night - and write. Searching for the best moment is the first step to take, because it improves the mood, the approach to writing and therefore Special Data allows us to be more productive. Write in the most comfortable environment JK Rowling wrote the first Harry Potter novel in a pub. For me this would be unthinkable. I can't write with people around. But she did it and created one of the most successful characters, she created a saga read all over the world. So it's possible. Yes, it is possible to write a novel in a pub . But also on the street, sitting on a bench, or in a park or in a library. We are all different, each of us finds our comfort based on our tastes and personality. Each of us has our own reference environment , the most comfortable one for writing.
The environment is not to be underestimated, because it represents everything we love condensed into a small space. Our environment is us. For Rowling, her space was that pub. Stendhal wrote The Charterhouse of Parma locked up inside his house, at number 8 rue Caumartin in Paris. Sift through ideas: focus on just one project When I got caught up in the frenzy of writing novels, I ended up not starting any. I opened the file and started working on the project, then my mind went to another and then I opened a second file and continued that other project. When I wrote that book in four months , I didn't think about anything else, I even let go of my novel, which needed some reflections, to concentrate on writing that book . You know when I was focused on one project at a time? When I wrote by hand and didn't have a computer. I had no files to open. An idea came to mind and I started writing on recycled paper. That way I was able to write several stories, which is more difficult for me now. Why? Because I write on the computer and I'm distracted by a thousand things.
